Along with many others, I got to know William via word-of-mouth. I reached out to William exactly one year ago, and was able to set up an appointment with him almost immediately (two days later). He got back with a proposal one month later, full with 3D renders for every single space - the living room, kitchen, bedroom, toilets, which was impressive. You honestly cannot expect this from most companies, especially when we had yet to commit to William at this point in time. We were impressed with the attention to detail, and committed to William then even though he comes at a slightly higher price tag (~80k+ for a 5-room BTO renovation, excluding electrician cost and appliances). But you pay for what you get! Through the renovation process, there were countless meet-ups to redo the renders as we wanted to save some costs here and there, and William did not hesitate to take our requests into consideration. He also continually arranged meet-ups for us to confirm our tiles, lighting, bathroom accessories, positioning of electrical points, and positioning of aircon. For most of the process, we only had to turn up and agree/disagree to his proposals or suggestions. We also made many last-minute changes to our electrical points, which he quickly informed the electrician about; his response is almost immediate, and he fixes everything within days. In fact, even after carpentry was confirmed, we surprised him by informing him about a water dispenser that we wanted to install beside our tap. He immediately made changes with his workers and arranged a small area within the carpentry (15cm width) so that our water dispenser could fit exactly beside our basin upon our request. Most impressively, our house renovation started in late-Nov, and he managed his workers to finish everything by end-Jan as requested by us, a timeline that was extremely tight. We made an incidental visit during the whole renovation process, only to find out that his progress was faster than what he gave to us on the proposed progress timeline. We fully trusted him and did not even bother to make a second visit after. There were many other small things that I appreciated, such as William having painted the entire house despite the fact that a large part would be covered by the feature wall, the effort to hide ugly trunking within his entire design, small cutouts behind our carpentry to show the full marbled glossy tiling of our wall, and returning for rectification and arranging for follow-up marble gum buffing after we told him about a scratch we noticed on one tile upon moving in. While there are certainly imperfections in our renovation (small things like remnant white paint on the windows, small 1mm hole on our wardrobe), the great attention to detail have far outweighed the minor imperfections. I will recommend William for people who are: - Aligned with his style of Modern Lux home designs, you can look through his portfolio on his website (he loves using wood, mirrors, fluted panels, and bold colours like gold and black to bring out the effects of his designs) - Not overly budget-conscious. His quote is not ridiculous, but it is certainly not the cheapest in the market. Nonetheless, you can trust that there is no VO; the quote that you sign off on is the exact amount that you will pay at the end, barring any additions that you may make along the way. - Not too particular about the items you want (i.e. if you want to source for your own tiles, your own curtains, your own vanity cabinets or wardrobes from Taobao as an example, then it might be a little difficult as William has his preferred suppliers for these items and own workers for carpentry, and he will settle the delivery and set-up completely on his end). - Not too much of a micromanager. William was a good choice for us as both of us were very busy individuals, and he could fully run the project like his own, updating us periodically on the progress.
